“Crime and Punishment“ is a modern, interactive exposition located in the Upper Castle in Panenské Břežany.

Through audiovisual technology, visitors will get acquainted with one of the most horrific periods of Czech history. They will relive the events leading to the Munich Agreement and the collapse of the first Czechoslovak Republic (1938).

The unique replica of the Pankrác guillotine evokes the atmosphere of repression during the Nazi occupation of Czech Land (1939-1945).

The room in the shape of a train wagon symbolizes the monstrous transports of Jews to concentration camps during the World War II.

Visitors will witness the crimes of senior representatives of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia Reinhard Heydrich and Karl Hermann Frank, who were residents of the castles in Panenské Břežany. Considerable space is dedicated to “Operation Anthropoid”, which resulted in the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich.
